I have asked the talented furniture designer Matt Eastvold, mastermind behind Eastvold Furniture about his Holiday favorites & dearest memories. Thanks for sharing, Matt!
What is your fondest childhood holiday memory?
When I was in 2nd grade, I got a really great Hot Wheels racetrack that I played with for months and loved. But that same Christmas Eve I was playing 'Hot Lava' with my cousin and tripped off of the couch and split my forehead open on their fireplace surround. Still have the scar!
What is your favorite holiday tradition?
My favorite tradition is going to church on Christmas Eve night. When I was young, my sister sang 'O Holy Night' every year, beautifully. As I got older and was playing violin more, I played at our church's service and usually a few more services in our rural area, where I grew up. Now we take our two boys to the Christmas Eve service here in Northfield and share it with them.
Favorite holiday treat?
I would have to say that my favorite treat is lefse. I love it because it tastes fantastic with whatever you decide to put on it. I also love it because there is a process to making it, which usually involves many hands. It is a great opportunity to have a party or gathering with friends and family to make food and socialize.
