In case you haven't noticed, it's peony season! The markets are bursting with the loveliest giant pink (white or red) blossoms. Last week my husband bought me the most beautiful and loveliest smelling light pink peonies and tomorrow my plan is to visit this place outside of Portland... oh just imagine....!

The Eames Dowel Leg Side Chair produced by Modernica just might be one of the most versatile chairs.. ever. An iconic chair that effortlessly makes its way into both modern and traditional spaces alike.
It just works. And in the inspiration above, I love how the Eames Chairs are set with wood tables. The combination of the two is brilliant, don't you think?

I like little vignettes of kitchen-y objects. File it in the 'little things in life that brings happiness' folder. I'm drawn to white, wood and metal objects that have a simple line -- well loved with much longevity.
Even a sweet grouping of honey jars makes for the perfect assemblage, or a handful of spoons in a glass jar (as shown in the top image). Simple, useful items made beautiful.

When I came across Emily McCall's kitchen renovation blog post I thought to myself: 'That's it! That is the most perfect kitchen, EVER!' I fell in love & literally spent a hour looking & examining her gorgeous photos & every detail of her kitchen.
I'll spare you my gushy, wordy love letter to this kitchen & give my top 5:
1. Beautiful countertops: marble & butcher block with white subway tiles.
2. The perfect simple/modern cabinets with familiar farmhousey hardware.
3. The eating nook is a perfect combo of table/seating (the light fixture is unexpected!)
4. My favorite: upper cabinet are replaced with open shelves. Well styled, yet useful.
5. Thoughtful details: the light above the sink, the use of whites & wood, room flow, decor bits...
I would not change a thing. I'm so in love with this kitchen I want to stand at the kitchen sink and do the dishes.

Do you love online magazines? I sure do! One of my very favorites is La Petite. And while it's largely intended for those with children (la petite!), it's a powerhouse of inspiration and beautiful photography even if you don't have any little ones.
The newest issue, #8 just came out and I am excited to share a simple DIY that I contributed. I created a simple wall assemblage made of sweet little wooden boxes from the craft store, gussied up with paint and many mini found objects.
Dot on over to La Petite now! It has about a million pages of amazing-ness (my tutorial is toward the finish..!) and you'll be amazed at how the editor Rachelle slams together such a mega amount of content at once! I'm so impressed.

Nothing says Memorial Day weekend like a good 'ol fashion picnic at the countryside... or at the beach. Eating yummy food & sharing good times with family & friends in the wide open space, fresh air. Lounging and loosing track of time. Prosecco and maybe a little campfire on the shore?
Sounds quite nice.
I would take 3 things along:
1. Knapsack by Fatboy. A gingham, moisture resistant picnic blanket.
2. Wine Cooler by Erik Bagger. Nobody wants hot prosecco, now.
3. Cork Tray by Ferm Living to tuck inside the picnic basket. Lightweight & useful.

We have a crazy patch of Mint growing in the sideyard. So much so that I gave it a big haircut in order to tame it and used the trimmings to create a large Mint bouquet for the coffee table. I didn't think of it in the moment (I just felt bad wasting all that Mint!) but it really brought a lovely dash of spring into our space.
Whether potted or cut, herbs in the house is a simple Make/Do project that takes no time at all. Choose a pretty pot or vessel, your favorite herbs, dirt and/or water... gussy it up & you're set. And if potted, make sure your herb-y friends reside near natural light.
Keep scissors handy to snip-snip when your herbs are needed. A mojito, perhaps?
