more, new! ferm living fw13

As I mentioned in my previous post I am totally captivated by Ferm Living's new Fall/Winter '13 Collection .. so much so that I just have to share more!

One of my favorite things about Ferm Living as a brand is that they effortlessly breathe new life into pieces from previous collections, as if to make them new again with their current designs. Nothing feels outdated, such an inspiration to reinvent what you already have while adding in a few new key pieces.

The new Collection includes more items in marble & in new colors (love the shower curtain!), new kitchen items (more stripes!), wallpaper, artwork and a handful of new vessels (brass!)

late spring happy hour

 

It's late spring. Local produce is coming into season. It's staying lighter, longer. And it's starting to get warm... makes me think: happy hour to celebrate the day or warm, late evenings spent on the back deck.

blue & marble

I love an all white kitchen with marble and black. But? We recently moved into a big beautiful home in the countryside with... blue countertops. Country blue.

And while I have to live with them I am determined to not only make them work, but make them look hot. I found this blue kitchen and was totally inspired, from the home of stylist Saša Antićs featured in Elle Interiör.

I will not be trumped!

As I mentioned last week I am excited about all the new products we have in the shop by Danish brand Stelton. The Pure Black collection of knives is no exception, they're hot.

Stelton has recently been added to our catalog of products and I am loving the new Frost Collection, designed by Swedish brand, Front for Stelton.

Frost is irresistible and has already been added to my cart. Perfectly well-designed & practical.

kitchen lines

This kitchen has amazing lines. The counter & cabinets running against one long wall, open to the eating area. And greatness of the wide plank floor? Yes. Skylight? Seriously.

The kitchen in the Soeborg House is amazing. Minimal, modern but such a rich balance of old. The great wall of wood window frames opening on the the farm-ish backyard and the detailed baseboard molding.  Wow, now.

And the wood rocking chair just happens to be the best accessory.

interior, perfectly subtle

I love the subtlety of this home. All white, grey and cream. It has such finesse, the kitchen in particular.

And, as some have noted, the kitchen is quite reminiscent of that of Downton Abbey. All that is needed is Mrs. Patmore!

Jonas Ingerstedt

The space of photographer Jonas Ingerstedt has been getting quite a bit of press, but for good reason - it's a home all of us would move into in a heartbeat. An effortlessly well designed home full of personal collections, thoughtful assemblages and a peaceful color palate.

I love the mix of lines .. the furniture, lamps, chairs... amazingly thoughtful composition & totally inspirational.

Open Kitchen & Interesting Lights

There are a few thing I have come to appreciate. First? Kitchens large & open enough to have a nice eating area -- dining table -- in the kitchen.  I love how the flow of this kitchen is open to the table & not stashed over in the corner in this home.

Second? Interesting lighting. Nordic homes in particular always have the most daring (creative) lighting choices.  I love this homes natural charisma & laid back style. The kitchen in particular is fantastic!
