I'm drawn to farmhouses. Living in the countryside myself, I get it. I love the rural, well established quality of this type of space. Add  in Scandinavian minimalism? Count me in. This renovated farmhouse, the home of designer Marie vonLotzbeck & photographer Jacob Kirk and is hot. Marie says she wants to paint the floors but I beg, no!

Lots of stuff you love  including &Tradition Lighting & Modernica Low Rod Sideshell Chair.

Another week has flown by & it is Friday again! I hope your September is off to a great start -- I am sad to see the Summer go, it has been such a remarkable one this year. Without a choice, I do looking forward to all the coziness that Autumn brings...

On another note, I love the details in this home. It's has such warmth with a few unexpected elements -- the giant cowboy poster, that ladder side table and even the hanging feather duster next to the fireplace. I love that.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  • summer house

Since moving to the new country house a couple months ago, every day has felt like the long weekends of summer, an everyday vacation and I love it. It's such a relaxed and creative atmosphere - so many possibilities, so many projects on my to-do list, loads of ideas!

My style sense has seemed to both broaden and become more laid back. Effortless and natural which I am refreshed by -- reminds me of a few Scandinavian Summer Houses I've been bookmarking lately -- minimal with a smidge of country.

I love the look of aged metal, especially old aluminum, it has such a pewter-ish look to it and is always so interesting. I've been snatching up aged metal pieces for my collection whenever I see them, always for dirt cheap as they're a bit odd & mismatched.

This space so perfectly illustrates the warm greys of aged metal against bright white - such a perfect contrast. I think adding "old" stuff to your space saves it from looking like a boring catalog or showroom.

  • 70/70 by TAF Architects for MUUTO

The new 70/70 table designed by TAF Architects for MUUTO is really quite beautiful in it's minimalism. The warmth of color in objects and chairs add to the intrigue of the space this table could be used in.

“The 70/70 table is a study in geometric forms identifying the dimensions for a well-balanced table. It has an almost anonymous expression yet with careful detailing. The table is based upon two cast aluminum squared frames with the dimensions 70 x 70 centimeters.  The simple Scandinavian aesthetics balanced with the warmth from the layered wood adds personality to the table.” - TAF Architects

Isn't this space just radiant? I can't take my eyes off of it. The very talented Charlotte, Swedish interior designer, stylist and blogger of Blackbird has created a most admirable space called Project Godhemsgatan.

It's essentially a staged property for sale. But it's nothing that you'd expect stateside where "staged" sings beige and boring. The space is full of character and age. Comfortable, enchanting. I'm totally stealing ideas from the shelf in the 2nd image.

    Loads more photos here.

I love when interiors are all simplicity and grace. It takes a good eye to not be heavy handed, yet remain interesting, you know?

Danielle Witte, interior stylist, photographer and shop keeper does just that. Her home is beautiful. Old, new and certainly tranquil.

This morning I'm inspired by this home. It's more about the space than about the stuff. Wide open & easy. It has that minimalistic "just moved in" feel (in a good way). And you can totally see how homeowners Henriette & Peter own a company called the The White Briefs, right?!
