Seriously! Drunken pumpkin pie? I would not say no. You? With mascarpone cream.. wow. This just made it to the top of my Thanksgiving pie making list.

Day 10 of 30 Days of Food: Persimmon Scones.
I know, I know. I've already posted about scones in my 30 Days of Food. I couldn't resisit this recipe, however. Persimmons are in season and sort of an awkward fruit. Not overly sweet with an interesting texture. Persimmons do have an amazing fragrance, however, which I love... so I have a hard time resisting them...!
Persimmons scones are therefor the perfect solution to .. what do i do with a persimmon?!

30 Days of Food, day 9: Carrot Apple Loaf
A loaf is humble and steady. Always yummy, nothing fussy. Every day is a good day for a tasty loaf.....
I think the combination of apple & carrot is particularly fitting, slathered in frosting (I dream!) and perfectly Autumn.

There are a few thing I have come to appreciate. First? Kitchens large & open enough to have a nice eating area -- dining table -- in the kitchen. I love how the flow of this kitchen is open to the table & not stashed over in the corner in this home.
Second? Interesting lighting. Nordic homes in particular always have the most daring (creative) lighting choices. I love this homes natural charisma & laid back style. The kitchen in particular is fantastic!

Day 8: Bleu Cheese & Bacon Tartine with Honey.
In a nutshell, that's lunch. Or dinner with a green salad, no? I love bleu cheese (especially from local Rogue Creamery!) and bacon (love our local Carlton Farms bacon!) and honey (we consume gallons of Wessels Family Honey .. a raw honey farm located a few miles away from our home!)

Earlier this week I shared with you the first part of this amazing Swedish home tour (here) - how dreamy bright it is! The upstairs is equally charming, in particular the bathroom.
This home is one of those effortless homes ... cozy & comfortable and easily maintains it's style. It's not overly stylized (ahem, black & white mania!) but has a clear perspective. And? I love the abundance of lighting & lamps throughout the space.

Day 7: Apple Cider Cream Pie
Surely you taken the hint: I have a major sweet tooth. I can't help it ... how about you? So i've fallen prey to this Apple Cider Cream Pie.
It's an interesting, yet simple recipe and one that you'll want to try out before Thanksgiving (ahem!) just to make sure it's good.

This home is dreamy. A real show stopper. Cozy, comfortable. I'm sold!
Which is great, because this home is actually for sale. The general layout of the living space on the first floor has an amazing open flow and enough white to brighten up any grey winter day. The eat in kitchen is my favorite aspect of the house .. that marble countertop is so stunning!
And? I'm loving all the windows - so much character. So farmhouse-ish.

Day 6: Confiture Caramel au Beurre Salé... Salted Caramel Spread.
Mmmm, salted caramel spread. In truth this spread would make the perfect food gift. A jar of wonderfulness. But c'mon! Who are you kidding? I imagine most of us could eat 1/2 a jar of this stuff straight up and then look for something (anything! icecream, crepes...) to put it on.

I am inspired by the visual contrast in these spaces. Bright and such fantastic, yet sublte layers of color ... such as the red wheels & green/yellow paintings in the living room. And always the layers of black.
Another love? The wood floors in the bedroom & kitchen. So raw & unfussy.
