One of my favorite things about winter is all the beautiful bulbs forced to bloom indoors. It fondly reminds me of my Grandmother.
And while I did not get around to it this year, I have been enjoying seeing other's lovely blooms.

Nothing is more lovely than celebrating spring a little early with some forced bulbs. Our mother always had amaryllis for Christmas and paperwhites in Januray. The magic of such beauty emerging from a wrinkly brown lump is part of the appeal for us. As is the pure color of the resulting blooms. We hope to remember to stockpile some bulbs next fall for a winter bloom, that seems to be the real challenge.
Your blog is so fresh and inviting! Looking forward to keeping up with it!
