Harry Allen is an award-winning interior and industrial designer. As a product designer, he has worked for an impressive group of clients, including Warner Brothers, Umbra, Magis, Aveda, Ikea, Steuben, Corian, Origins, MAC, Johnson & Johnson, La Mer, Target and Areaware. Mr. Allen has received numerous awards, and his work is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, and the Denver Museum of Art. His interest in art, new materials, a systematic design process, and innovation have led to some of the most intelligent products and interiors in the world today.

Housefish was started in 1997 by Scott Bennett in Denver, CO. Scott holds a degree in Automotive Engineering and has design and engineering experience that includes Indy 500 winning racecars, composite aircraft, consumer products, and industrial equipment. Housefish was conceived as a laboratory for using America’s high tech and industrial manufacturing technology to produce innovative modern furniture that remains affordable, and respects the environment and your health.

What started in their daily conversations, Christiana and Aimee often found themselves discussing ways to live more simply. Both believe in being more appreciative of small joys and living in the moment. As fate would have it, they stumbled upon the Danish word hygge just as they began to discuss a way to share this concept with others. They love the way that it simply yet profoundly captured what they were trying to achieve in their own lives. While hygge manifests itself differently for each person, it is ultimately about living better. By collaborating with artists and discovering new ways of joyful living, Christiana and Aimee hope that Hygge & West will inspire you to create more hygge in your own life.
